lat trackers can't leave Daytona clean. The traditional
AMA Grand National season opener always seems to
find a way to try one's patience.
Combine the excitement and
eagerness to race after months
away with the start of the season,
the tight and difficult-to-passon Daytona Short Track and the
spotlight of performing in front of
nearly all the movers and shakers
of the motorcycle industry and
you have a volatile recipe for both
thrills and agony.
Such was the case in the 2013
edition of the Daytona Short
Track doubleheader. It was an
emotional return to the podium
for Mikey Rush, who scored his
first National win in six years. The
next night an incredibly fit looking Brandon Robinson broke
through to earn his first National
victory after five years of trying.
Rush and Robinson are feelgood stories, both making triumphant comebacks from devastating injuries.
