National
Enduro.

I think I am starting to get over my recklessness, and I think
that's a big help.
Did you feel you were going faster out there than you
usually do?
Honestly, no. I just shifted up a lot and let my momentum
carry me. I've been working a lot on my momentum. Plus, I
ride the 310 in the enduro series and I like riding the 310 because it pulls my weight better than the 250 and I can keep my
momentum going more. But I didn't feel fast at all; I came in
and told Freddie [Andrews, FAR Husky team manager] that that
I did okay in the first one. So it was a little deceiving out there.
This trail was quite a bit different from what you guys
normally ride on back east. Did it take a lot to get set up
for it?
In the first test, I ran my GNCC settings on the suspension –
I just wanted to try it to see where it was at. I knew it was going
to be fast because I bicycled part of it the day before, it turned
out to be all right, but it was a little rockier than I thought, so I
made a big suspension change before the second test, and I
thought I went the wrong way because there were no rocks in
the second test. But once I got back in the rocks I started to
flow a little better.
Some of the riders checked out the course on Saturday
and came back in saying the course was a little sketchy.
Did you think it was sketchy or dangerous?
Well, it was kind of sketchy. It was fast and rocky and all the
rocks were loose and they wanted to push you down. Even the
dirt was loose, I couldn't stay planted out there; I was sliding
a lot.
Is this anything like you ride at home in Pennsylvania?
It's rocky at home, but that's about it. The dirt is good at
home and the rocks are different. Besides, I haven't been
home in so long I've forgotten what it looks like.
You've got a pretty good year going; you've got two
wins in GNCC and now you have a win in the National Enduro series, you have to feel good about things right now.
Yeah, I'm just trying to not think of it like that. I'm excited that
I'm winning, but I just have to keep working hard and keep my
head down and keep doing my weekly routine. I just need to
keep everything the same and go forward and try to make my
enduros better.
You'll be on the front row of the next National Enduro.
What are your thoughts on that?
That will be different for me; I've never started from there, except in a local event. I'm excited to do that and break trail. CN
