VOL. 50 ISSUE 18 MAY 7, 2013 P29 WILES ON HARLEY FOR STOCKTON G rand National Flat Tracker Henry Wiles will ride a Harley-Davidson XR750 at the Stockton Half Mile this weekend with the Lloyd Brothers Motorsports team planning on running the Harley and the team's Ducatis throughout the season, picking the bike that works best at the track they're headed to. "We haven't given up our mission of building brand diversity in pro flat track," said team coowner David Lloyd, who has been campaigning Ducatis for the past seven years. "With one win, three second places and a multitude of top-five finishes to our credit, we have helped to broaden the appeal of the series to fans and competitors. I also think that we have helped to inspire others to develop flat track motorcycles around more affordable engines. In addition to the Harley-Davidson factory team, we now have teams in the paddock with support from Triumph, KTM and Kawasaki." At this point, the choice is based at least partly on finances. Lowes led the first race from pole position with Byrne on full attack mode until crashing out of the race on his Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki. From there Lowes was able to take the victory over Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison and Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes. "I'm overjoyed to win here at a circuit where I have struggled in the past and, my twin brother continued on page 30
