or the first-time ever the
AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles Grand
National Championship ventured
into the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds with the new 3/8thsmile clay oval proving to be a
great showcase for the series.

Track Live's Sammy Halbert was
also on display, the Washingto-
nian proving that knee surgery 12
weeks ago hasn't slowed him as
he took his first win of the season
in his first race of the year after
missing the series openers at
Daytona in March.
Halbert definitely certified that
the rehab from his off-season
knee surgery went well as he
posted the quickest heat race
win of the night and then went out
and grabbed the holeshot in the
25-lap National.

to come back to racing," Halbert
said. "It's been a while; I haven't
rode a bike much. I've just been
training and doing a lot of exercising. I've been real focused lately
and working hard. I think it's paying off, I got the holeshot, which
was awesome."
