NSHIP SERIES
Jacob Argubright
came out on top after
a day of back-and-forth
battling made possible
by welcome rain
leading up to the final
race of the season.
Briefly...
While the lack of dust was a nice
change and brought back memories
of the opening round farther east off
Bessemer Mine Road, it also meant
the pace was faster with no holding
back. Nick Burson said, "I think,
honestly, it was a little sketchy for
me; I just kind of backed it down. I
hit some stuff and almost crashed so
I just tried to keep Axel in my sights.
I wanted a third for today [and to] just
get out of here safe."
Among those who didn't get out
safely were SoCal M.C.'s Brian Nasif who suffered a broken femur and
hip, Tallon Taylor with a suspected
broken collarbone, and Paul Krause
with a twisted (and possibly broken)
ankle.
Though the top three spots were
essentially set going into the finale,
many other class championships
went down to the last one. Perhaps
the closest was 40+ B with Steve
Grieb going into the finale just one
point ahead of Michael Phillips.
Grieb responded with his third win
of the season (the same as Phillips)
with Phillips second for the day and,
thus, the season, 206-200.
S
FMF/GPR Hare & Hound National Championship Series couldn't
have been much better. A little
warmer for spectators would've
been nice, but the three loop, 90-
mile course that the 100s and Invaders Motorcycle Clubs laid out
otherwise offered perfect conditions on a weekend paying tribute to three-time Hare & Hound
After spending all season in Super
Mini, Utah's Rebecca Stout decided to make her debut on the big-bike
course. After her KTM broke during
the Super Mini race, she borrowed
sister Rachel's CRF150R, entered
200cc C and finished the two loops
fourth of the 17 entered. Conner Hisgen led the way, winning by 10 minutes over Matthew Krenik who was
45 seconds ahead of Evan Downs.
It appears likely that this was Jacob
Argubright's final National aboard
