T
hey may never achieve the
level of domination they dis-
played in 2012 when they
combined for 15 wins in 16 races,
but there is little doubt that the
Screamin' Eagle Vance & Hines
Harley team has returned to a po-
sition of strength in the NHRA Pro
Stock Motorcycle class. Racing
at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals
- a unique event that features four
competitors racing side-by-side-
by-side-by-side with both the win-
ner and second-place finisher from
each match advancing - Hines
won the final round while team-
mate Eddie Krawiec finished a
strong second. Hines and Krawiec
defeated Matt Smith Racing Buell
teammates - Scotty Pollacheck
and John Hall - who finished third
and fourth, respectively.
"Once Eddie and I got to the
final we were focused on just
seeing some sort of win lights on
our side of the track," Hines said.
"Obviously, each of us wanted
to win but more importantly, we
wanted to finish first and second.
We didn't do a great job on the
starting line. Scotty and John
drilled us but we found some
performance in our V-Rods over
the last five weeks and we've got
some good momentum going.
"This does a lot for my confi-
dence because I've never had
a round win here [at the Four-
Wide]," Hines said. "In fact, Char-
lotte was bad to me. It took four
races before I broke through for
a win at the two-wide race in the
fall. At this race there is so much
going on that you never know
what's going to happen. Some
