ryan Smith has laid claim
to the mile-long stretch of
dirt at the Cal Expo Fair in
Sacramento, California. Since
the event's return to the Grand
National Championship in 2011—
after a 12-year absence—Smith
has won all four. And his fourth
straight victory under the lights
not only claimed his dominance
in the modern era at the Sacto
Mile, but also put him in the re-
cord books as the only man to
do so. The only other men next
in line are the winningest dirt
track racers at the Sacramento
Mile—Scott Parker (13) and Chris
Carr (9) who both had their Sacto
streaks stopped at three.
"It really hasn't set in at this
point," Smith said about the his-
toric win. "It's another win which
is awesome, but, like I said on
