"M
an, I love going to the
gas station," said no
one. Ever.
No matter what you think of
electric motorcycles there is re-
ally nothing better than not hav-
ing to stop at a gas station. Love
them or loathe them, there's no
denying that plugging your mo-
torcycle into an electrical outlet,
going into your home for the eve-
ning and simply forgetting about
the bike is a better option to
stopping at the pump, removing
your gloves, fumbling around for
your wallet, paying for and pump-
ing your gas, putting your gloves
back on and riding away. It's an
interruption in life that nobody
enjoys.
So how does a Zero SR sound
right about now?
Well, how does 171 miles in
the city or 88 miles on the high-
way (according to the relevant
EPA cycle) sound? How about
being able to charge that same
motorcycle from zero to 95 per-
cent charge in just one hour via a
CHAdeMO hookup? What about
a bike capable of over 100 mph
and one that will surely beat any-
thing with a license plate from a
standing start?
Then there's the bad part. It'll
cost you about as much as a
high-end sportbike.
At $16,995, the SR is the
top-of-the line model in what
is now a four-bike lineup – the
