IN THE WIND P24 bean state, with a population of 10 million. The team was tight-lipped about such a link but declared that World Superbike is a popu- lar sport on Dominican TV, which makes the link with the series a logical one for their backers, ac- cording to team consultant Man- fredi Lombardi. Corser spoke at Magny-Cours about his new project, and thinks it is an even better realization than the all-Australian team he had hoped to be involved with last season, for reasons of firm finance and support. "It is actually better now we have a good backup behind the whole project, which last year we did not have at all," said Corser. "It is very exciting to be involved with a brand new project and the Dominican Republic is coming on board to promote and adver- tise in this championship. I am sporting and technical director. It is a minimum three-year project, but I think it is a longer goal than that. I think that is just the initial step to see what we achieve in the championship - and our goal is to win the championship. We are not coming here with material we cannot win with or riders we cannot win with." The team will use the all-new BMW S1000RR, unveiled at the Cologne show, and again after the JR press conference at Mag- ny-Cours. "We have not had the new bike on the track yet ourselves," Corser said. "I think realistically top five in the first year would be a pretty good goal, maybe better than that, but there are a lot of teams out there with a lot of expe- rience and bikes that have won World Championships before. We are using a manufacturer that has not won a World Champion- ship yet so we will wait and see. I am quietly confident with what we have got and what we can achieve. We are hoping we can get out on the bike at the end of November, and maybe after that. It depends on whether Dorna de- cides to drop the test ban." Gordon Ritchie Troy Corser will be the sporting manager for the new JR Racing team in 2015. PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE JAMES STEWART'S RACING FUTURE I t sounds like Yoshimura Suzuki's James Stew- art's racing future is going to be decided in a few weeks' time. Stewart tested positive for ADHD medication Adderall in his World Anti- Doping Association (WADA) urinary analysis following the Seattle Supercross last April, and the process is taking a very long time to sort out, which is holding up a lot of contracts up and down the motocross industry. James Stewart should learn his fate soon after testing positive for a banned substance following the Seattle Supercross. PHOTOGRAPHY BY STEVE COX
