oming in to the season finale with a 13-point lead
left no surprise as to who was likely to take home the
2014 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship. But as
history has shown us, anything can and does happen in Endu-
roCross. Kip Webb, father of points leader Cody Webb, wore the
worry on his face as the main event neared, although a knowing
grin lurked just underneath.
"We think he only needs to finish seventh," Kip said. "So he's
going to take it easy and ride smart. But if he gets out front, he's
going to go for it."
The plan paid off, just as it had all season: Riding smart, push-
ing when he should and holding back when it made sense. Al-
though Webb and defending champion Taddy Blazusiak each
